Spring Concerts Coming!

This year, there will be three opportunities to hear the Susquehanna Chorale’s spring concert series, Songs for the Journey, at three different locations:

  • Friday May 12, 7:30 p.m., Derry Presbyterian Church, Hershey, PA

  • Saturday May 13, 7:30 p.m., Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, PA

  • Sunday May 14, 4:00 p.m., Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts (Parmer Hall) at Messiah University, Mechanicsburg, PA

Each performance location offers unique attractions. Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg offers a more intimate experience in an urban and acoustically ideal environment. Derry Presbyterian in Hershey provides a suburban setting and a more desirable commute for audience members east of Harrisburg. Parmer Hall at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg provides a spacious auditorium and convenient parking in a University setting. At each location, a pre-concert 15-minute instrumental recital will be presented by organist/pianist Daniel Dorty and guest artists Vera Solomin, violin, and Ai-Lin Hsieh, cello.

Here are just a few of the selections included in the upcoming concert programs: Let All the World in Every Corner Sing by Ralph Vaughan Williams, the Pilgrims’ Hymn of Stephen Paulus, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms arranged by Eric Nelson, Oh My Luve’s Like a Red, Red Rose by René Clausen, Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel) by Billy Joel, Cardinalis Nobis Pacem by William Stowman, Deep River arranged by Mack Wilberg, and I’ll Be on My Way by Shawn Kirchner.

Tickets may be purchased through the Susquehanna Chorale website at https://susquehannachorale.org/performances or by calling the Messiah University Box Office at (717) 691-6036, Option #1. Discount tickets are available for groups of 10 or more.

Regardless of your chosen performance venue(s), the messages conveyed in this stunning program will lift your spirits and speak to your soul. This is a playlist for life—a musical story of who we are and why our journey matters. Come along with the Susquehanna Chorale and experience “Songs for the Journey.”
